Product Details

Our Black Crystal Silicon Carbide, derived from quartz sand and petroleum coke of high purity, is fused at temperatures of 2,500 degrees Celsius to give a dense and highly crystallized compound. The characteristics of both the raw and the processed products make it clear that our product goes through a process of transformation from natural occurring large crystals to small precisely graded granules for use.

Characteristics

Applications

This grade acts as an efficient deoxidizer and refractory agent during smelting. It is used as a basic abrasive material in grinding wheels, oil stones and grinding heads. This product also acts as an excellent thermal insulator in steel production.

Impact

At an introduction rate of 14 kg/metric ton, this product consistently lowers electricity consumption by 15 – 20 Kwh per furnace; decreases cycle time by 15 – 20 minutes and increases production levels by 8 – 10 %.
